About Us

The term vintage can mean many things to many people. For Vintage Gift Shop it relates to a core identity stemming from a teenage music infection as Doctor Ross describes in Boogie Disease. Such infections lead to immersion in cultural worlds of dance, fashion and art, embracing the objects and accessories of the time. Music is heard in the art and art is seen through the music. Clothes hang and flow as their style allows. Associated objects within these worlds witness and tell their stories.

Artefacts excavated from these worlds have been captured for your perusal. We hope they speak to you as they have to us. They naturally correspond to our belief in sustainability and saving the earth’s resources. We only use recycled packaging.

We would like to encourage more people to buy vintage gifts to help save the earth's resources. Humankind uses about 50% more natural resources than 30 years ago which equates to around 90 billion metric tonnes of resources every year and the earth can only replenish 50 billion. If this continues it will be 180 billion tonnes by 2050. Buying a vintage gift helps to save the earth's resources as it already exists from a bygone era with it's own story to tell, it has not been specifically manufactured for today's market. Yourself or a loved one could become its next custodian.
